sticky keys, dust (compressed-gas duster) destroyer was not helpful, so I just bot a second keyboard. IS THERE A MICROSOFT KEYBOARD plastic COVER AVAILABLE (for this Keyboard4000 series) anywhere??please advise.

Rated 3 out of 5�by a5cent Yes, the painted keys are terrible
The keyboard is great, but as others have mentioned, the painted keys are terrible. I've been using this second keyboard for a year now, and the M, C, V, comma and shift keys are now just black. Many others are illegible. It's a shame that such a great keyboard is manufactured to such a low quality standard.
In addition to the paint job, I'd wish for two more improvements:
- I wish the keyboard wasn't quite as loud.
- I wish it was easier to wash the keyboard without having to remove a dozen screws
Fix these three things and it's a 5/5

I love this keyboard and petitioned for months to have one purchased at my office. But when I got finally got it, some of the keys didn't work. After some research, I discovered the solution! If all of your keys (or the zoom wheel) aren't working, go to http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/natural-ergonomic-keyboard-4000 and download the "Mouse and Keyboard Center" Now my keyboard works perfectly!

I've had this for a few years now. It's my third MS ergo keyboard, and the keyboard shape works for me as it always has. Downsides: the spacebar is not securely attached and is noisy; the key labels wear off over time, especially for people who use hand lotion or hand moisturizers. Also in a dark room, like you must have for photo or video editing, you can't see the keys. Backlighted keys would fix both the wear problem and the dark room problem. I am desperately searching for a new keyboard! The Yes to "recommend to a friend" is actually "yes, but with a warning."
